On October 30, Wang Ziyi, Director of the Technical Department of the Ningbo Intelligent Manufacturing Expert Committee, visited Ningbo Newland Magnet Industry Co., Ltd. to inspect its digital transformation achievements and highly commended the company’s progress.

Newland Magnet is the first company in China’s magnetic materials industry to fully integrate digital management across all processes, and remains the only one to date. The company is leading the magnetic materials industry’s digitalization efforts while also contributing to the growth of intelligent manufacturing in Ningbo.

According to a company spokesperson, Newland Magnet has been committed to digital transformation since 2016, integrating CRM, ERP, and MES systems to automate business processes. Through continued investment and system optimization, Newland Magnet has enhanced its operational efficiency and reduced costs. By digitizing production processes, they’ve reduced labor dependency and minimized human error through efficient process flows.

Over the past eight years, Newland Magnet has achieved a 30% improvement in production efficiency, a 20% increase in customer satisfaction, and a 15% reduction in operating costs. “Data processing time has been cut from hours to just minutes, which has significantly improved the timeliness and accuracy of decision-making. Digitalization has also streamlined internal processes, reduced errors, and improved overall efficiency, creating a solid foundation for sustainable growth,” noted the company representative.

In addition, Newland Magnet has adopted an advanced data management platform that enables centralized storage, efficient processing, and secure data sharing. This setup enhances data support for decision-making, bolstering the company’s competitiveness.

Furthermore, in response to national energy-saving and emission reduction policies, Newland Magnet has collaborated with Huawei to implement its HarmonyOS IoT solutions for advanced energy monitoring, analysis, and optimization. This allows for comprehensive monitoring and management of energy consumption throughout production, boosting energy efficiency and lowering production costs. For example, Newland Magnet has established an energy management platform that leverages big data analysis of production, processes, quality, and equipment to reduce energy consumption, particularly for inert gases such as nitrogen.
